Welcome to the Journey

Sanctified Abandon

“I urge you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, to presents your bodies a living sacrifice, acceptable to God, your spiritual service of worship.” Romans 12:1 NASB

The next verse ask the believer to transform their entire state of mind, their way of looking at life, as if using the mind of God. When the Bible speaks of the will as it does in verse 2 it is speaking just as scientists and doctors today speak of our will as our thought process or our mind. As Oswald Chambers stated so eloquently in “The Utmost for His Highest”  with the June 14th entry–

“In the initial stages it is a continual effort until it becomes so much the law of life that you abide in Him unconsciously.”

Because allowing the Blessed Holy Spirit to take complete control of our will is so contrary to our flesh/self it is not something that is easily negotiated. It is indeed a process and the earlier one can begin the process, the least amount of baggage one has to navigate through and carry during the process. However, because the entire process is contrary to the flesh it is easier to negotiate when you and your flesh are much older and just a bit weaker. Though as I have said the older ones gets, the more baggage one must deal with, which means that the choice to begin the process may come easier as with the process itself, however, the baggage that one accumulates in life can make the process hell on earth. So with the time of the conversion basically a toss up it like everything else in this life when to choose to follow God is ones own choice.

There is no doubt in my mind that I would much rather have gotten on board with the Messiah at 16 years old than forty years later as I actually did. I say that now for the sole reason that what the Messiah brings to the table is far more than I could have ever dreamed of. The places in my life that mean the most to me like love, compassion, intelligence, contentment and emotional stability– at all times– are priceless and I cannot think of life without my Father. Especially, at times like today with the world at the brink of W W III, the economy in the toilet while someone continues to flush, the middle-class of our society is coming apart at the seams, and the division and factions within this country will tear it apart. Yet, the Peace of God has truly surpassed my understanding as it has given me such rest, assurance and contentment.
