Welcome to the Journey

Going back to the beginning will lead us back to the “Way”, which is the original name of those who followed the Messiah. Specifically, the Apostles and those few dedicated individuals who came to know the Messiah through them. We are going back to much more than just a name of a group, we are going back to the original principles of that group that were developed by our Messiah.

“But this I admit to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect I do serve the God of our fathers, believing everything that is in accordance with the law, and that is written in the Prophets…”  NASB

Saint Paul refers to the followers of the Messiah as the Way about five times in the Book of Acts, and the book’s author, Saint Luke does so once (Acts 24:22). According to Saint Paul he referred to them by that name before they were called Christians in Antioch (Acts 9:2).

Why does this matter? Obviously to most it does not matter, however, to us in the Cepher family it matters a great deal. Today when anyone hears the word Christian few if any think of Yshua as our Messiah, and most non-believers, if not all, think of Swaggart, the Bakers, the child molesters, swindlers, the far right political extremists, and all who have soiled the name of Christianity. Including many confused believers from the Crusades to Iraq War II . I know of few today that call themselves Christians who follow the Messiah “reckless abandon”.

“You will know them by their fruits.”–Matthew 7:16  NASB

People like C. S. Lewis and Oswald Chambers just cannot be found in any large numbers because truly following the Messiah consumes your entire life, and very few people can allow that to occur in their world. The nature of being human is contrary to following the Messiah. Therefore, to truly follow God requires one to completely give up their life (nature) so the Blessed Holy Spirit can take complete control of ones physical body.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in Heaven.”–Matthew 7:21  NASB

Our hopes and dreams, our aspirations and drive, are relinquished over to God and we become His servant living only to please Him. We serve one another when we allow the Messiah to live through us with the power of the Blessed Holy Spirit. We are not labeling all Christians as fallen believers. However, we do believe that the label “Christian” does not describe our belief system in God or who we are as followers of the Messiah.

“If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall My servant also be; if anyone serves Me the Father will honor him.”–John 12:26  NASB

Christianity has become just a word that has no physical characteristics. To claim Christianity no longer necessitates the fruits that should be obvious in every “Christian”. How many different sects of Christianity are there? I doubt anyone can list every possible combination of divisions and sub-sections within Christianity.

“But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that Faith without works is useless?”–James 2:20  NASB

This country, the USA, is in grave spiritual trouble, and we zealously feel that all of us believers over thirty years old who have not followed our Lord with complete abandonment during the past several decades are partly responsible. Therefore, we also strongly feel that we should be the ones who begin the repairs and not just leave it to our children. The only way to make the repairs necessary is to totally relinquish our lives to God. Only this will enable us to have the necessary insight, compassion, and perseverance to help bring the United States back into being that moral and caring beacon this world so desperately needs right now.
