Welcome to the Journey

Journey with us each week as we post scripture from the Bible.

As we learn our way around this blog stuff we will either be able to continue within this page or simply make new pages for each Sabbath scripture; we shall see.

So here is the scripture for the second Sabbath in June:

Revelation 10:1-4  (NAS)

“And I saw another strong angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud; and the rainbow was upon his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire; 2 and he had in his hand a little book which was open. And he placed his right foot on the sea and his left on the land; 3 and he cried out with a loud voice, as when a lion roars; and when he had cried out, the seven peals of thunder uttered their voices. 4 And when the seven peals of thunder had spoken, I was about to write; and I heard a voice from heaven saying, ‘Seal up the things which the seven peals of thunder have spoken, and do not write them.'”

This was the scripture that got us started on our journey.  Specifically, verse four where we see Saint John being told to keep secret what the seven thunders had stated while in his presence. The Messiah tells us that anything kept secret will come to light (Mark 4:22, Matthew 10:26, Luke 12:2). Our Messiah also instructs us to search if you wish to find something (Matthew 7:7). So we did; and with the assistance of the Blessed Holy Spirit (John 14:16-17) we searched and read various books, articles, magazines, and of course the Bible.

There was this driving force inside of us that kept asking various questions such as: Why did the thunders make a statement that could not be published and what did they say? We also wondered what exactly is a “Thunder”? This one scripture created in us a hunger for the Truth to a degree that neither of us had ever experienced. Exacerbated by the lack of truth in society, our hunger to find the real God, the real Faith, and the real Truth, has lead us to this journey.

What we wish to share with you is the most important discovery that my brother and I have ever come across. No, we did not find the exact statement that the thunders recited to Saint John two thousand years ago on that Greek island; however, what we did find was about as important as anything we could imagine the seven thunders could ever say. In all our studies, research, and prayers, we found a much closer relationship with our Creator! We discovered that all our research and studies have just begun. Our relationship with our Messiah is no different than any other relationship in our lives; therefore, the more we know about our Lord, the better our relationship will be.

This may seem simple to you, but for us it was very enlightening and enabled us to understand what surrendering to God truly meant. There was no instant utopian life that took over when we surrendered to God. Actually, our lives did not change at all, however, the way we look at life and approach life has changed completely. We now feel certain our existence on this earth is for the sole purpose of bonding with our Creator.

Emulating the life of our Messiah by allowing the Blessed Holy Spirit complete reign within us just as the Apostles, Brother Lawrence of the 1600’s, and Saint Augustine of Hippo is exactly what we have been doing and will continue to do by the grace of God.

All scripture is taken from the New American Standard Bible
