Welcome to the Journey

Deuteronomy 8:1

“All the commandments that I am commanding you today you shall be careful to do, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to your forefathers.”  NASB

Fourteen-hundred years before the Messiah, God made it very clear to those who would follow His lead what it would require. According to the New Testament, that advice has not changed.

Matthew 5:17

“Do not think that I came to Abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill.”  NASB

So many places in the New Testament show us either through the Messiah’s actions or words that the Law of God was not going to change, but how we were going to implement that Law was. Faith without works–works without Faith, it all comes down to the Blessed Holy Spirit; without Whom we cannot apply God’s Laws into our hearts. It is imperative that we understand how important the Blessed Holy Spirit is to our lives. It is like wind to a kite, water to a boat; both the boat and the kite are less effective without the necessary counter-part.

It is the same with those who wish to follow the Messiah; without the Blessed Holy Spirit is impossible. It is the Spirit that provides the attitude that is so necessary in the Faith it takes to follow the Messiah. Following the Messiah does not constitute walking in His footsteps, but allowing Him to walk in ours. Through the Spirit, the Messiah lives through us.

One needs to ask, Why all the commandments? God does not do anything without good reason, therefore, the one reason that is foremost is obedience. At first glance the human psyche appears very independent, but there is far to much complexity in the human mentality to make such a simple observation. A close look at the history of the beast reveals how dependent the human being is to leadership. That is exactly how God wired us; to be receptive to His leadership.

So why are we so rebellious? That is not our spirit. If left alone man would have never picked the Tree of Knowledge, and even now there is a spirit of rebellion tormenting our souls to the point of exhaustion. We must fight it with every ounce of strength we have as God continues to provide us with more strength. I am sure that God’s strength will get us through if we make up our minds to never give up!

Fight On! God’s Speed!
