Welcome to the Journey

Heaven On Earth?

How many times have you been “enlightened” by well-meaning Christians on how great your life will become both financially and physically once you begin to follow King Y’shua Messiah? They assure us that if we follow God exactly as it is written out in the Bible, and if we continually stay “right” with God, we will live disease free and become financially secure (as long as we give our ten percent to the church). Heaven on earth! Well not quite, because there are always those pesky little family members who refuse to drink the kool-aid and therefore have mishaps and sicknesses which will cause some despair. It is always difficult to enjoy “Heaven on earth” when family members and close friends are constantly suffering (supposedly because they refuse to live accordingly).

Thank God the “Wall Street Gospel/ Prosperity Gospel” that churches have used to promise all good Christians, Heaven on Earth, is finally being revealed for the fraud it is. No matter how hard the academic proponents of a” CEO Jesus” belief try to prove that the Apostles were all investment bankers, the truth is finally beginning to reach the masses. It does not take a genius to read the New Testament and see that though the Apostle were certainly not beggars they certainly were not wealthy. And God help them if they were because the New Testament speaks very poorly of the wealthy. From the words of King Y’shua Messiah to the words of Saint James each exclaim the same warning for the rich, as well as warning s to those looking for riches.

Therefore, all true believers/followers can rejoice when times of difficulty arise even if they include financial or health problems. Contrary to prior belief, as long as your heart belongs to God you life is completely taken care of even/especially in the midst of grave turmoil.

The Politics of God

What are the politics of God?

First we must be clear on what the word, “politics” means. For this writing it means the art or science of government, and government is the authority rule. So God’s politics is a matter of how God maintains His authority over His people. We can see exactly how God rules by simply reading the Bible, the Word of God shows us the way He dealt with His people in the past as well as His expectations for our future. However, we see very quickly in reading the Bible that ten people who read it can have ten different interpretations in the very same Bible, on very same pages, reading the very same verses!  Not only can there be various interpretations, but various parts of the Bible can seem to contradict other parts of the Bible. That is not by accident! The Word of God is spoken to each and every single human being that has ever walked this earth or ever will.

It is the same reason there are four different Gospels based on a single event–the Life of King Y’shua Messiah, the Bible allows for various interpretations. The interpretations are as numerous as the people who read the Bible. One thing the Bible is rather clear about is God’s desire to develop a personal relationship with every single individual that has ever been or will ever be born.

I have read the Bible, cover to cover, in numerous versions including the Greek and Hebrew Interlinear, and as of yet I have failed to find a single place instructing followers of King Y’shua Messiah to demand, by use of physical force if need be, that every person contacted be made to “believe” in God! I have read in the Bible that King Y’shua Messiah requires His followers live in such a “Way” that reflects the life of King Y’shua Messiah in everything they do. Three of the Gospels discuss this at some length in areas that Bible scholars refer to as “The Beatitudes”, and the Gospel of Saint John discusses this requirement throughout the entire Gospel–followers refer to it as “Agape Love”.

Today more than ever we need this “Agape Love” in the power, numbers, and direction that the Gospels speak of being apparent in the First Century. Unfortunately, it does not take a genius to realize that the very basic ideas discussed within the Beatitudes are desperately needed today if the USA has any chance for tomorrow.

ARMAGEDDON

For many in America, President Obama was the answer to their prayers, and yet for many other Americans he was the “anti-christ”. Now for most, he has become just another politician who works for those whom the majority of Americans will never meet, nor ever really emulate, though most Americans fantasize about some day becoming the next “Bill Gates”. All that time wasted on futile attempts to become filthy rich, while one could have been helping those less fortunate to become a little more fortunate. All the effort and imagination wasted on selfish get rich schemes could instead be put to use helping bring up the lower classes thereby enriching the middle-class. Together we stand and divided we fall; it is as simple as that.

“Instead the president conveyed the insular optimism of his fat-cat associates: “We are poised for progress. Two years after the worst recession most of us have ever known, the stock market has come roaring back. Corporate profits are up. The economy is growing again.” How convenient to ignore the fact that this bubble of prosperity, which has failed the tens of millions losing their homes and jobs, was floated by enormous government indebtedness now forcing deep cuts in social services including state financial aid for those better-educated students the president claims to be so concerned about.” – Robert Scheer editor for Truthdig.com

For many today the “End” has already come; the end of having a roof over ones head, the end of going to work, the end of eating at least once each day, the end of life as most of us know it. What is even worse, is this insane belief that we have no control over our own destiny. For those who believe in God they should know that God gave us our free-will in order to apply it as we see fit. Just because the Lord knows what choices we make before we make them does not mean that He controls our choices. Why else would God not tell all of His followers when the last day would be? Had God wanted us to dwell on the “End-Times” He would have given us a clear date. The fact that He did not do this indicates that His desire is for His followers to live each day to its fullest until there are no days left.

As it appears today, a large portion of the American society has determined that the world will not see the year 2013. If enough people believe that to be true, they just might hasten their own demise; for them the world will end in 2012, one way or another. Hopefully, there are enough intelligent people within America today that have already realized how dire our situation is at present and have begun the process of living a more appropriate life. A life that conserves more and consumes less, a life that considers the other person at all times knowing that whether its your neighbor across the street or a complete stranger across the ocean we are all intricately connected.

All who call themselves Christians should be ashamed at yourselves for the simple reason that King Y’shua Messiah was explicitly clear on how His followers were to live. Instead of trying to convince each other of how rich King Y’shua Messiah was while He walked this planet, we should all be studying and applying His words and actions into our own lives beginning with the Beatitudes. If we were doing this today the world would be a very different place.

KING Y’SHUA MESSIAH

Who is Jesus?

Why should we care?                             Let’s find out!

Hebrews 1:3

“And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature,…” NASB

First of all, the Greek word used here for “radiance” means as if He was a mirror being used to reflect the Awesomeness of God to all of us. Secondly, but of far more significance, is the word “exact”; when using the Greek word for “exact” it means an instrument that stamps the very same image every time it is used. In other words, King Y’shua Messiah is the clone of the nature of God. Not the same, but identical!

With the understanding that while on this earth King Y’shua Messiah demonstrated the exact nature of God in everything He did and said, all we must do then to discover what God desires of us is read the four Gospels. They will show us exactly what King Y’shua Messiah did and said when confronted with every day life experiences. It does not take very long when reading the Gospels before one sees the very nature of King Y’shua Messiah, which is of course the exact nature of God.

Patient, Kind, Caring, Love beyond understanding, and completely devoted to the Will of God, are some of the attributes that one sees in King Y’shua Messiah when reading the four Gospels.

Today, most Christians learn who King Y’shua Messiah is from their pastor/Sunday school teacher, but they do not take the time to find out who He is on their own. The problem this creates is a sort of passing on the likeness of who God is to the pastor/teacher. Because the Lord gives His Blessed Holy Spirit to each of us it would seem that God desires for an intimate personal relationship with each of His followers. Therefore, each one of us must find God personally in order to Know Him intimately. Who God is to our Pastor is nice to know, but will not truly benefit us, as it would to know who God is to us personally.

It is for this reason that we here at Cepher celebrate the holiday season. We hope and pray that you will also find the time this month to quicken your relationship with the Holy All-Mighty, Amen.

Desert Travelers

Deuteronomy 8:1-4

“All the commandments that I am commanding you today you shall be careful to do, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to your forefathers. And you shall remember all the way which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. And He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord. Your clothing did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years.”  NASB

Lately, it seems as if God’s followers have been led out into the desert once again, just like fifteen centuries before the birth of King Y’shua, and just like King Y’shua experienced Himself three decades or so after His birth. It is as if human beings are most susceptible to the Truth when they are at their lowest point, at the most humble and dehydrated time of their lives. Notice how the writer explains it clearly in the above passages where he discusses how everyone was led into the desert to become humbled in order that they might understand what was in their own hearts.

It certainly does appear that for at least the past forty years or so those of us who have attempted to follow God have ventured off into the wilderness where we have become exhausted, famished, thirsty and lost. However, in all that time we have not gone without at least the presence of Hope wrapped around us like a cloak, and though our feet are sore they have not failed.

I can only speak for myself of course, although I am inclined to think that I am not alone in saying that during my time in the desert I have learned quite clearly what is truly important. This Holiday Season will not go by as all the rest have done. Oh no, this Holiday Season, this time, I understand!

To give until I bleed (if necessary) has nothing what so ever to do with receiving, and yet it has everything to do with this Holiday Season! In fact, giving (not receiving) is the only thing this Holiday Season in about.

Liar, Liar….

How many lies have you said today? I mean untruths, white lies, fibs, something other than absolute truth. We all lie and most of us think nothing about it. In fact, we usually make up excuses for saying the lie as if to justify it like when we compare lying to something really bad like murder. But what about those of us who proclaim to follow King Y’shua Messiah? What does our King say about lying?

Revelation 21:8 puts lying right up there at the top with murder as things followers should not partake of.

Proverbs 19:5 tells all who read it that there is no escape from the consequence of a lie.

Psalms 63:11 say all who lie will be stopped.

More specifically, the Word of God explains clearly how our King feels about lying:

Proverbs 12:22 states that lying lips are an abomination to our King.

Psalms 101:7 informs us that those who lie will not abide with our King nor remain in His service!

Psalms 5:6 warns us that God will destroy those who lie, and that our King abhors liars!

Leviticus 19:11 makes it very clear that our King Y’shua Messiah requires all of His followers to refrain from all lying. As does Colossians 3:9.

Acts 5:1-5 describe what can happen to followers who lie.

The point here is that we could go on for hours listing all that is discussed in the Bible about lying. With that in mind, we are not talking about becoming a perfect, non-sinning individual, but we are saying that if we cannot speak the truth, it is impossible to live there–in the Truth. And that is exactly what our King Y’shua messiah did and requires His followers to do–live in Truth. Like everything in life this takes time and is a process, but unlike many things in life, learning how to speak the truth consistently and exclusively will effect ones whole life as well as all those that that life comes in contact with. Overall the affect will be positive, although it may look just the opposite at the beginning.

Revelation 22:15

“Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.”  NASB (bold font added)

Take time and read that verse while studying each and every word used, and you will see that we all practice lying and some even love to lie. However, few of us understand how God looks at those who lie in the same way He looks at murderers!

If lying is just a minor little vice that means little to you then you should be able to stop lying now that you can clearly see that God does not approve.

The WORD

“In the beginning was the Word ….”

It was there in the beginning, and will be there in the end. The translation for “Word” as used in the first verse of Saint John’s Gospel written in Greek means roughly, “the spoken word”.

In the beginning was the voice of God.

Can you here it?

The reason I ask is because so many people claim to hear “It” clearly, and yet I have read the Book of Saint John more times than I can count, but I still find the first few lines enigmatical at best–as is much of the Bible. I believe there is a reason for this and it comes from God’s request for His followers to be obsequious in not just our public walk with Him, but also in our understanding of life itself.

The biggest problem today, besides greed and selfishness, is our pride, which leads us to our opinion that not only is there absolute truth, but that we are in possession of it! In reality there are so few absolute truths, that one can count them on one hand. When it comes to the Bible we must be adamant in the understanding that it was written for an individual walk with our Creator. Even if we learn Hebrew and Greek so that we can read the Word of God in its original form it will still be difficult to agree on the meaning of every line.

When one considers how difficult–maybe even impossible–it is to objectively and correctly translate the Bible into English from Hebrew or Greek one can see the need for each of us to read the Word of God and find its meaning on our own. No doubt others will influence your thoughts, yet as long as they are in the end your thoughts that is what an individual walk with your Creator is all about.

Life is learning, and learning can be thought of as applying thought to activity. That is why King Y’shua Messiah clearly told us to consume Him. To have a hunger for everything that is King Y’shua Messiah. To search to the ends of the earth and back again–never stopping your search to discover as much as is humanly possible for who and what is King Y’shua Messiah (John 6:41-66).

WATCH for the Changes

Just finished reading Michael Drosnin’s third book about the Bible code. I have been following his and others work on the code phenomenon for many years now, and like so many others I have found it very difficult to discount the findings just as it is difficult to grasp the possibility of its authenticity. At any rate, the signs in life today all point to a similar future, whether you look at things spiritually, scientifically, politically, historically, or in a combination like I do. That future is not necessarily bad or good it is just going to be very different than what we have been experiencing for the past few generations.

What does it all mean? To me, it means I need to get ready for changes in my life style. I need to find comfort and contentment with much less than I had previously been accustomed to. I will need to be able to find peace within  anxious situations. I will most certainly need far more Faith than I have today. Most importantly, I must be able to allow God’s Love to flow through me at all times, even when those times will be full of hatred–theirs and mine.

Thank God the only thing I will have to do to achieve these changes to my life style is to simply turn to God and allow Him to enrich my life with His Blessed Holy Spirit. However, I must be open to His teaching and leading because He will never force anything on me. I must be willing to accept whatever changes God deems necessary for my life, and it is through this trust and obedience that I learn how to follow God into this new day and beyond.

I do not believe in the theory that bad things happen because God wants to punish people and good things happen because God wants to reward people. I believe that all things, good and bad, happen because that is life, and life happens for us to learn about life. In all this we can and should learn something about becoming a better human being. These years to come will provide us all with exactly that opportunity to learn how to become better human beings.

Is this the end of the world? Not on my calender. Though this may be the end of an era. The Hebrew term End of Days can mean just that–the end of these days. Make no mistake, the end is near for someone every day, but the world still goes on for many others, and probably will for some time to come. However, never stop “looking” for the Lord’s Coming for that is Biblical (Matthew 24:42).

Acts of Change

Here at Cepher we believe that the events that were recorded in the Book of Acts were not only true historical events, but that they have been ongoing events since the first century. Unfortunately, we have drifted so far from the true “Way” (Acts 9:2, 19:9 & 23, 22:4, 24:14 & 22) that today we have only a shadow of the True Gospel, and have only a slight idea of what it means to live within that Gospel. Even the bits of Truth that still exist in churches today are emphasized in the wrong order of priority. Some focus on this part of the Gospel, others focus on that; when in Truth all our focus should be in one place–on King Y’shua Messiah.

An example of what it means to completely focus on King Y’shua Messiah– God’s example for us–can be found in the letter to the Philippians chapter two verses one through fifteen. Here we can easily see why there is so little of the power of the Blessed Holy Spirit in the churches today compared to two thousand years ago.

The True disciples of King Y’shua Messiah are those who match exactly the description of God’s followers as written in Philippians chapter two. They seldom, if ever, find notoriety useful, needed or desirable. They understand where the Power comes from and who deserves all the credit. True disciples of God are simply humble and willing bond-servants dedicated completely to God.  They would never accept any material gain for their obedience to God from those who received benefit from that obedience.

It comes down to this;

The Word of God today has gone through some infamous times in the past two-thousand years, but it has withstood the test of time, as made evident by the “Dead Sea Scrolls”. Certainly there has been controversial conjecture on the part of some scholars in regards to the legitimacy certain books in the Bible, and that entire line of thought is irrelevant to Faith. Either one believes that the Bible is the Word of God or one does not. If you believe that the Bible is the Word of God, then you should continue in that Faith with the understanding that as it is the Word of God, God will see to it that His Word will always remain the exact design that God so desires.

Can you imagine a god that can create all of existence, and yet not be able to maintain the publishing rights to His own manuscript? Or a god that leads his followers to believe that he wrote a book that all his followers must read and adhere to, although it was just a joke? Can you imagine a god that would go to all the trouble of dying on a cross for his people just to let them become mislead by a fraudulent publication?

Therefore, believing that the Bible is the Word of God, and that the Bible states that the Blessed Holy Spirit will be our instructor of that Book, it is incumbent on us as the True disciples of King Y’shua Messiah to study, learn and “eat” the Word of God so that the Bible becomes who we are. Through this process we will discover that it is an individual endeavor, and that we should not expect others to follow along after us. The only leader any of us should be following is King Y’shua Messiah, and we certainly should not expect others to follow us.

I had felt for many years that there were other writings that the Apostles read that were not included within the Bible. Once I began this journey with the Blessed Holy Spirit teaching me the Word of God I was lead to other writings that were referenced in the Bible, but not included. These other writings became a great gift to my learning the Word of God, and if the Lord desires that you also should be blessed with these others writings I am certain that the Blessed Holy Spirit will lead you to them personally as it was with me.

True followers of God will not compromise or force their beliefs onto others. True followers will simply follow King Y’shua Messiah in His exact steps one at a time.

The Winds of Change

They’re here. Can you feel them? The threshold has been crossed and the change must now take place. The Winds that are blowing have less to do with our climatic atmosphere than they do with our Spiritual atmosphere–this Wind is the Blessed Holy Spirit (The Hebrew word for wind is also the word for Spirit–Genesis 8:1, Exodus 15:10, Numbers 11:31, Ezekiel 37:9). Here at Cepher we think it is for the better because people will not change on their own. We are an obstinate people, a stiff-necked people who do not listen to reason, only to force (Exodus 33:5). And now that force is the Force of Nature (both climatic and human) that will continue to place a strangle hold on this country until we relinquish our hold on it.

We have had a decade of warnings to make the necessary changes and we have gone in the opposite direction. Instead of changing our ways and becoming completely submissive to King Y’shua Messiah, we have leaned onto our own understanding while depending upon our own strength. Big mistake! Just as Saint Peter did on Gethsemane (Matthew 26:52). Do not misunderstand this post; we are not advocating for the Ten Commandments in our schools, we are advocating for them to be in are hearts!

The climate, the economy and the morals of this nation will change. Unfortunately, it will get much worse before it begins to get better. But it will get better! Not in our life time, but in lifetimes to come. That is what this life is all about, not our life, but another life. Until we begin to live for others as King Y’shua Messiah showed us two millennia ago, that we still refuse to emulate, we will never be His disciples. Shame on us!

Economy, food, water, climate are all becoming less and less accommodating until we–the citizens of the USA– as the leading example of this earth, finally begin to live within the means of this planet in respect to all the other human beings on this earth. As long as we (Americans) continue to live as if we own everything, acting as if as long as we desire it, we deserve it, we will indeed get exactly what we deserve–as we are seeing at this very moment ( Genesis 6:6, Jonah 1:2, Exodus 32:7-10, Matthew 23:37-39).

Make no mistake, we cannot fix this! All we can do now is attempt to improve the chances of our next generations. That is not a bad thing. Please follow along: Read the rest of this entry »
